At the turn of the millennium Mark was like any other raver pounding the dance floors around the North East at local hot spots such as Ikon and Foundation. Since then he was hooked on hard house and fell in love with the Music for a Harder Generation!
Rocking his raving socks off to the fresh sounds from turntable legends from Lisa Lashes to the Tidy Boys and becoming a regular face at events such as Godskitchen and Sundissential, alongside 7000 hard dance fanatics at the massively popular venue the Newcastle Metro Arena.
Then came Digital ,Newcastles brand new Super club in Newcastle’s centre of life square, where Mark first came across the hugely popular Andy Whitby, considered by most to be the main man in harder sounds Mark was blown away by the sheer skill and ability of the legend himself, after becoming friends via Facebook they become very good personal friends.
It was thru Andy Whitby that mark came in to contact with a club called warehouse in Middlesbrough that hosted events under the name MAYHEM, ran by Tez Walker, mark had a lot of respect for Mr Walker and became firm friends, thru that friendship he met a young, talented DJ from Pontiefract named
DJ Tone, he played an Organ Donors track - Tear Drop which caught his eye and thought he will do well for himself.
Mark became friends with DJ Tone and was blown away with the demos he received ,and a month later it was DJ Tones chance to show MAYHEM what he was all about, and by did he fucking blow the roof off. He was on last after Kutski and played one of marks favourite tunes - DOZER - CHURCH OF THE DARKSIDE, then upon exit of the club Tone was mobbed by the clubbers shouting his is famous chant - "DJ TONE DJ TONE DJ TONE" .Since then mark give
DJ Tone his 100% support even to be classed by the legend himself as his no1 fan.
It was from here that Mark decided to turn his hand to promotion for the love of the music, the DJ's and the army of fellow stompers with whom he shared his passion...HARDSTYLES!
Mark has attended events nationwide following DJ Tone and Andy Whitby, to who he credits his love of the harder styles of dance. His passion has taken him up and down the UK many times from events such as ATOMIK 2,3,4 - ENERGY ISLANDS - GATECRASHER - to name a few and with plenty more to come
Then Mark thought it was time to give it a go as a networker, spreading the hot news of events across the likes of facebook and building up a strong fan base of fellow ravers.
Mark now heads up the hugely popular Promotion and DJ Agency North East Promotions, based from Home in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Working alongside some of the UK's biggest dance event organisers Paul Calvy, Tom Muir, Barry Almond and Alex Kidd.
It was through this he came across Greg Spence, to many of you who know him as DJ Hustler. Mark and Greg are very best mates and share the same passions in Gregs love for underground hardstyles and his own Event Rotation which is hosted in Preston (check out the Rotation tab under EVENTS above).
Quarantine - through Gregs contacts Mark met up with 5 best pals who host the massive Quarantine event and was asked to handle all the promotion and DJs for the event (More info on the DJs in the DJ section). Now Mark is part ov the Quarantine team and may the future look bright the future is NEP.
Mark has asserted himself as a leading name in event promotion and long may the journey continue!
